What? No humour today??

I watched it this afternoon at work (without sound) and said myself, better don't say anything. But now, with sound, it's just, ehem, without offense, "not funny at all", to avoid other terms Maybe I need a training class in swedish mentality

Just watched it. I though it was funny in the sense that for a people that are used to this celebration this must be funny because it's such an exagerated view. we have the same sorts of things here in NA usually expressed in TV ads and parody shows that the people here can identify with because they recognize themselves in it.

Honest to god it could have been a video of one of my neighbors bar-B-ques which is why I thought it was funny. cept they wear basball caps and not those smurf (Schtroumpf) hats and play karaoke instead of tuba music yes it's just as horrendous a site.

Very funny Zeb! I can now see the norse/viking ancestry in our own English summer-time rituals. Change the hats, add England football shirts and a liberal sprinkling of tattoos, and change the fish for supermarket burgers and you have pretty much got an English bbq.

I've been away from the forum for a few days and so it took me some time to get around to all of the posts - it's been a busy week, with the A900 debates rumbling on, plus lots of new members, and the continuing lovely photos from Gustav.

Thank god there are some with humour...
Ah well, it's probably funnier as a Swede because you realize how close to reality the film comes... LOL

They certainly got into the spirit of the, err celebration, speaking of spirit, I wonder what was supposed to be in the plastic turps bottles marked with an X ?
I got a subtile hint it might be a parody when someone took a large bite out of what looked like a raw pilchard...hmmm and someone was attacking a large fish with a hand saw....
and a little later when someone started disassembling the "maiden" in the bushes by throwing various items of clothing over his shoulder
All in all, just a tad over the top, nobody really behaves that gross....do they? but curiously, hard to stop watching, sort of like watching a train wreck in progress.
