Sony needs to get heavily into software business

Sony needs to become an advanced software company. Stringer's failure to do it quickly is the reason why Sony is where it is now. This half-blind man caused improvement at Sony, but any half-decent manager could have managed that; the CEO before Stringer was a total idi*t. Sony needs a man like Steve Jobs or Larry Ellison, someone with balls, not someone who kisses up to a lot of people just to get ahead. Stringer headed Sony USA for years and Sony's marketing was, and still is so bad on the Internet.

Sony ads are bad, don't improve Sony image.

Uh huh. And Ford needs to be a computer company, Lloyds of London needs to go into waste management and Apple should be a produce company.

None of these companies needs to change their core business. They know what they're doing, and make more money in a day than you do in 10 years, even in "loss" years.

Sony already does software. Vegas video editing, Acid music editing... not sure what else. I think those items are kind of a good fit, as it meshes with their entertainment bent. Also, one of their major lines of business is already software -- video games. That's one of the biggest markets of software, too.

What other software should they get into? They'd simply meet stiff resistance.
