Thanks Don. no problems except doggie-doo sound so far. My D5000 goes back to Nikon to see if they can fix the sound issue after I finish testing the Sigm 10-20mm (which so far is NOT showing up as a good lens compared to the previous 4-5.6 version - which remains on Sigma's catalogue).

Interesting. I think I recall you saying that the new Tamron 10-24mm is also not as good as their older 11-18mm.
