Yeah that'd be cool also, let's hope they don't create a 4th dimensional window that we all get sucked into....

ps. I don't think they'll ever find a higgs boson occupying the 3rd dimension...only, I've got a sneaking suspicion that gravity could be an instantaneous force across the universe. Have a look at a spiral Galaxy a 100,000 light years across, how could it possibly maintain that structure, all in unison, if gravity travelled at the slow old speed of light?
What a beautiful thing. Seven mirrors each 8.4 meters in diameter. Thirteen years ago the second of the two telescopes of the W. M. Keck observatory was completed--astoundingly large at 10 meters across. I can't wait to see what the GMT resolves!
I remember reading onetime, that there isn't a telescope that can resolve the landing stage left behind on the moon by Apollo 11, it's too small, I have had a look a few times with my telescope, I thought I might spot the long shadow if the sun was shining from the right direction, but no luck, (well, I don't think I saw it).
A friend has a 16" and we've had the odd look at the moon with that from time to time, and also drew a blank, (not really surprised), but we did see and identify the three small craters not far from the stage named after actual living people, (Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins), the only ones on the moon to be so.

ps. Those craters btw are around 4.5Km in diameter, and they are very small in the eyepiece, even at very high magnification, but now I'm wondering if this new telescope might just be able too see the landing stage....t'would shut those loony 'no moon landing conspiracy' nuts up then, at last.
