I happened to stumble across this post with some interesting photos of Canon's advertising in British Columbia for the Olympics. Check it out:

There was an incident here with branding at the olympics. I was trying to watch the opening ceremony for camera brands and noticed all the cameras the athletes were carrying had plain straps and covered logos. in reality it was much worse than that. they had to make sure all their logos on anything they weren't given were covered up. lots of black tape was used to cover signs and straps on everything from sun glasses to running shoes. I guess the sponsers pay big bucks to be there and don't want to have competing brands visible. they even made the hockey goalies cover stuff on their masks. one of the was named miller and his mask had "killer time" paintted on it. it's a play on his name but came from a beer ad and the IOC got really worked up about that

I still can't believe the 1D is that big. And while I fully believe that Canon could roll 40-odd EOS 1D mk4 bodies and 400mm lenses around on Mini Coopers, I'm almost certain that it would be less expensive and no-less flashy to use mock-ups. Note the fixed images displayed in each of their "LCD"s.

Okay, never mind, those cameras are bigger than the cars' steering wheels, they're definitely mock-ups.
