I was reading dPreview and my mind wandered a little from the topic of a Mirrorless Future.

I do think I'll go for that; our house has too many mirrors, including sixteen feet of them wall high in the bedroom where they were installed to throw back the light from two large windows. I don't like meeting myself first thing in the morning, especially round every corner. Voluntary mirrors are OK but too many of ours are involuntary.

Then the ideal future mirror occurred to me. It's not a mirror at all. It is a screen with a video camera, pretty high resolution, enough to make a 24 inch vertically mounted screen serve the purpose. The image is, of course, reversed so that it looks exactly like a mirror. The software has Face Detection and an embedded, video-enabled auto detecting version of Portrait Professional able to run at 60fps. The 'mirror' has built-in beauty portrait lighting.

The software neatly resculpts your face to conform better to the 'ideal' while enlarging your eyes, enhancing the smiliness of your mouth, removing wrinkles, deleting zits, minimising Walter Matthau nose and Prince Charles ear effects, de-tortoising necks and tidying up stray hair.

It's possible now, of course. Everything exists to create this essential accessory for a mirrorless future!

Yeah sounds interesting, when you wake up in the morning you look in the 'mirror' and you've got Cleopatra in bed beside you ha ha!

A very BAD idea! IF I thought I looked that good every morning, I wouldn't bother to spruce myself up, and would make quite a fool of myself with the ladies, thinking I could put Brad Pitt to shame in the looks department!
