150 years ago today...

150 years ago today was the start of the American Civil War. Our deadliest in all of our history, which wiped out much of our wealth and youth.
It also brought to the fore war photography, most notably by Mathew Brady. He took photos of both sides during the war, as non-combatants freely transversed lines. I have several copies of books on the Civil War that contain photos he took, all of course now in the public domain. If I get time I may post some. Others feel free to do so as well.
