Dpreview goes on the rumors story for Sony ...

Unread post by InTheSky »

Well, looking at the Election Result in Canada where the Conservator are going the get the majority the Bloc Quebec almost Dead ... (long story), I'm at the same time very surprise to see that Dpreview is now going outside his usual way by talking about rumors ...

This website that has always put Sony on the side, is now trying to get attention but talking about non official information. Using sentence like : "but appears to offer greater control over the function of those buttons than the existing models. The manual was placed on a password-protected directory but with the login details publicly posted elsewhere on the site."

Is it only me that think that this is not professional in the way this website should be?

So now ... I will go and try to get you back some picture my last lens ;-).

Regards,

Frank

Perhaps they're sticking it to Sony because they didn't get one for review!

I guess the key question to ask and be answered is; Is the manual genuine? If it turns out to be genuine then the announcement by dpr doesn't amount to 'rumour' ...
I can't read Czech myself, but it seems someone at dpr is taking it reasonably seriously so it may have some substance, for what it's worth.

I don't intend to post anything on photoclubalpha about this. I may be criticised for not copying this stuff, but it strikes me as stealing someone else's story, and also publicising unauthorised access to Sony websites.

I thought DPR had a policy of not putting stuff like that up? Evidently not! They've actually removed some rumour threads on forums in the past
I don't mind myself but unless it's an official company press release it kinda looks a bit like not a lot going on better shove something up there

My guess is that manual was part of some impending release....before the Magnitude 9 and the Tsunami sorted it out. And I suppose actual camera news might be a little thin on the ground for a while now.
