I'm a bit biased to this, being a musician myself, but there was a link shared on Dyxum of macro's made from within musical instruments for the Berliner Philharmoiker. Very good in my opinion.

Believe it or not, I used the Minolta Dimage EX (?) with its detachable wide angle lens on a cable to do this inside guitars. Lost those pix long ago. It was when I was repairing instruments and making one.

The violin is rather modern, despite the cleated top - heavily repaired. Very old violins have a rough surface on the inside faces, created by the toothed rasp used for carving. My 1770 guittar has carving like this, resembles a ploughed field close up. Apparently the rough surface breaks up direct sound reflections and prevents standing waves, giving old instruments with rough interiors a better even response across a wide pitch range.

But I'm sure these very clean and smooth looking interiors are top grade instruments! The guitar appears to be cedar topped not spruce - I like that, but not many classical players appreciate cedar, they find it too 'wild'.
