Dancing Strawhatz - Kimono

Unread post by smulnik »

A couple of member photo posts reminded me of this video from a few years ago. It's one of my favorites. :D This would have been a lot of fun to be in, or to shoot. If you haven't seen the video before, it's a mix of an ancient culture "look" with new dance and music. I don't normally have an interest in hip-hop, but I find that in this context it's rather enjoyable. I particularly like the choreography for the geishas. They exhibit a lot of power in their movements, especially in their first sixteen counts. The camera angle helps.

Just in case you are wondering, I don’t think that the video is meant to be disrespectful to anyone's culture. Just enjoy it as performance art… and turn up the volume. :D

Happy New Year!
