Hi,
I have a 4GB microdrive that came from a dead Palm Lifedrive.
The microdrive is fine, verified and works OK with my computer.
The problem is that neither the A700 nor the KM7D are able to use it.
The 7D, it shows the ---E- message on the number of frames left field, then asked to format the card and then it says it is "unable to format".
On the A700 (firmware version 3) it is even worst: The camera freezes with a "unable to use card" messsage.
Does anybody know how can I format the microdrive, in order to use it with any of these cameras?
Thanks,
Martin

Re: Microdrive and A700 or KM7D?
Use the PC first and format the 4GB card as FAT32, do a low-level format. Try that. If it fails, reformat as FAT16 and try it again in the camera, but you will probably only see 2GB of the card. It will never be very fast or reliable in the camera, and even the cheapest current CF card at 4GB (around £25 UK) will match its performance. You may find it is worth more to someone as a spare part for a handheld, enough to get you a decent CF card instead.
