I would love to trade in my a 230 and upgrade to another newer Sony model, where would i best to look for a trade in for my a 230 55 mm & 300 mm lenses in the UK, Is there any reputable sites anyone can recommend it would be much appreciated.

Hi Mark,

I have done a couple of small trade-ins with London Camera Exchange at their retail shops. Not a great return but "better than nothing". LCE may not be very handy for you in Scotland. Ffordes will by kit, but I have only ever bought from them so far. There are other internet traders who offer part exchanges (e.g. UK Digital Cameras) but no experience of them. I wouldn't expect a great deal for basic kit.

Let us know how you get on if you do find a deal somewhere.

Ffordes don't do trade ins but sell on commission for you - a fair deal, but competing with far too much other kit.

Still looking at the a77 would i see a drastic difference in photographic quality from my a230 ?
Or the a65 any users who can advise please as i want to upgrade and get one that lasts me and im happy with

Huge step up from the A230, no doubt. I've been using my A77 again. No doubt about its abilities.
