Sigma 24-70/2.8 EX DG Macro
I have been offered this lens from a friend at a very reasonable price and wondered if anyone has had any experience with it? It will be to add to my Sony A200.

Re: Sigma 24-70/2.8 EX DG Macro
I had one for a couple of years and which was used on an A100. I found it a really good lens, sharp to the edges with minimal distortion, although on an APS sized sensor it lacks the real wide angle view at 24mm. I got rid of it when I aquired an 16-80 CZ. If it's a good price then you shouldn't be disappointed.

I just sold one on ebay for right around $300. It was a good lens, and the copy I had was pretty sharp. It's a great lens to take pics of people with. I used it mainly on my a900. The 36-105 range is a weird one on a crop sensor.

$250-$400 seems to be the range they are selling for on ebay. The hsm version is around $850-900.

Dusty! You should have just e-mailed me. I'd pulled the auction for a PCA type! It would have saved me the $35 in ebay fees. Sorry man!Dusty wrote:I almost had it, but someone sniped it from me at the last minute!
