Help for Grand Canyon trip

I'll be visiting LV and Grand Canyon in coming long weekend. Hoping to visit Lake Powell, Grand Canyon, Antilope Canyon and if time permits monument valley.

Regarding my gear, I have A700 with VG, SAL18-250, and 50 1.7, 58AM flash, a bogen tripod, two 4GB CF cards, two batteries. I'll bring my laptop to flush out pics daily from CF. I shoot in cRAW.

My problem is this is my first visit to these kind of locations. Should I rent some wide lenses(like 16-80) or 18mm is wide enough? Do I need a better tele like 70-300G.

Also, if you can suggest some new spots/travel tips/specific time at a spot, that would be great. I am new to this country, and probably wouldn't be able to visit again.

Thanks
Ayan

I'd look for an 11-18 or something like that, perhaps the 16mm fish-eye. The 18-250 on a tripod will suit just about all your needs, but if you must have something longer you couldn't do much better than the 70-300G, though that's a lot of weight and bulk to travel with for the additional 50mm.
