Flare resistance?

What are the most flare resistant A-mount lenses, for example for night cityscapes or for sunset shots?

I don't know ... but generally the most flare-resistant lenses are those with a low element count. So I'd try the AF 50 mm 1:1.7 (six elements), AF Macro 50 mm 1:3.5 (five elements), and the AF 28 mm 1:2.8 (five elements). Remove any filters and use a proper lens shade!

I think the 28 F2.8 is a great lens - so much so that I use it for about 90% of my shots at the moment. One recent night cityscape shot I took is on the following link:

Since you have mentioned the 28/2.8 , I have made shots with it and compared it to Pentacon 29/2.8 (yes, 29mm).
I'll post the results soon.

The 28/2.8 is one of my first lens purchases. I thought it was a pretty nice lens, but I have read so many negative comments online. The only thing I can figure is that there are other primes that are better, but I still think it's a good lens, particularly if you can get it used at a low price. (The only problem I have with my copy is oil in the aperture blades -- ugh.
) I have used it as a "walk around" type lens, but, of course, there are many times where you want a different FOV, so I generally use a zoom instead.
