tamron 70-300 4.5 with 1.4 tele

has anyone used this combination, i am going on a cruise to cape horn and around about there, i was wonderring if this would be a half decent combo , i have a tamron 18-200 but was thinking of leaving that at home and taking my cz16 80 and this combo, also would a 2x converter be much use , thanks

Welcome to the forum, Gio67
I would rely on the CZ and 70-300. I don't think the tele converter would be of use.
And do have a nice time.

i was thinking along those lines myself but needed convincing, thanks for the welcome too, i'm looking forward to exploring the board at the weekend when i have a bit of free time
