Which is your most used / favourite lens(es)?
Mine have been the Minolta 85/1,4 G(D) and the 50/1.4. However, I have just acquired the Sony 18-250 and I suspect that it will get a lot of general use, particularly when travelling. I am still amazed by this - when I started with SLRs 28mm was considered very wide and the idea of a 14 x zoom range beginning at a 35mm equivalent of 27mm would have been unthinkable.

I also use the 18-250 a lot these days.

I don't have much of a lens selection yet for my Alpha, but I LOVED my Osawa 135 f2.8 MD mount. It just seemed so much brighter and clearer than even the Minolta 135/2.8.
Speaking of mega-zooms, when I went on a trip to the Holy Land in '99, I had my first extensive use of a Maxxum. I brought along my brother's 7000 only because he had a 28 - 200 (maybe 28 -250?) zoom for it.
I really like the idea of the 16 - 105, but I want to see some example of it's work before I commit to that.

An a700, an a550 and couple of a580s, plus even more lenses (Zeiss included!).

Hi,
Recently, my most favored lens is the Carl-Zeiss 16-80mm. I shot more than 13.000 squential frames with it since I purchased it in late October 2008, at an avarage rate of 300 frames/day and it's smooth as the first day it arrived thankfully. It even got a little wet under some unexpected rain showers but nicely dried in room conditions and continued working with no problems. It can hold its own quite nicely!
My other favourite is the Tamron 90mm F/2.8, which handle all of my home-studio shots and macro work.
Now all I need is the 200+ zoom lens of my desire and I can shoot some birds, active creatures and architecture at a certain distance. I'm sure that lens will be very busy when I get it also.

Minolta 70-210/4 is my favorite, hands down. Ironically it was one of my least expensive lenses...only the 50/1.7 was cheaper.

Re: Which is your most used / favourite lens(es)?
When I used Minolta MD I mostly used a Sigma 28-70 F2.8. It was heavy but good. I also liked a fairly light Sigma 70-210 F3.5-4.5 APO and for wide angle the super sharp Minolta 24 mm F2.8.
Now that I use A700/A350 most images are taken through that CZ 16-80 and when it is not wide enough on comes Sigma's 10-20. I find my copy acceptably sharp so I have no complaints. I also use the Tamron 18-250 but not by any means as much as the other two. I mostly shoot travel, landscape and architecture so the wide end of lenses is being used most.
I am contemplating Sigma's 120-400 but I am a bit put off by the weight of 1.750 Kg. I really would like something lighter but within F5.6 max at the long end. Probably an impossible task. I might go for the new Tamron 10-24 mm as well as I often find that Sigma's 10-20 is restricted at the narrow end at 30 mm (35 mm equivalent) The Tamron is more like a 15-35 mm and that is a good span.

My Sony 50mm f1.4
It's tiny, super fast focussing, usable indoors or out, sharp, and makes me think about composition lots.

Out of my collection of lens Minolta 100mm 2.8 macro is my most used, followed closely by KM18-70
5D, 8000i, XD7
Re: Which is your most used / favourite lens(es)?
The Minolta 100-400 is always mounted on one A700. The KM 17-35 is usually mounted on the other.

I'm getting a lot of use out of all my lenses . but I think the ones that are my favorites is the 28-135 and 17-35... ok maybe my beercan too,,
Re: Which is your most used / favourite lens(es)?
I won't ever own my favorite lens, it's always bound to be the next one
The lens that's on my camera most is the Minolta 35-105N. However, a few crude tests indicate that the Tamron 18-250 is the better lens, so I feel the transition starting..

On the A900 I've been using the 28-135mm Minolta and the 15-30mm EX IF Sigma. Really excellent lenses both. The Minolta is obviously in a class by itself, but the Sigma is incredibly sharp considering the 24MP Sony sensor it's dealing with.

My Tamron 18-250 sits on my camera most of the time.
Re: Which is your most used / favourite lens(es)?
I now only have 3 lenses, Sigma 18-50mm DC, Minolta 50mm 1.7 and a Tamrom 70-300mm
I tend to use the Tamron, the most.

Sony 100mm 2.8 macro much of the time ... closely followed by the Sony 70-300mm G SSM
