I know T/S lenses were a big want for some people so thought you might be interested in thei DPR article

They are using CZ components. Phase One also has a range of TS lenses, made by Hartblie using CZ glass, which were already listed for this approval last year.

However, the costs are prohibitive. That's why Canon has been able to justify $3000 for the latest TS design.

I swear I ran across a T/S lens on ebay once, MD mount. I wish I could remember what it was, I know it was not cheap, and that I could not find another one.

Here are the prices

4/40: 5.460 Euro
2.8/80: 2.370 Euro
4/120: 3.870 Euros


Fortunately if you buy them all together you get a reduction: 10.560 Euro

Saw a picture of that lens attached to an SR. if I run acrosss it again i'll post it here.

This people are doing replacement mounts for the PC-Distagon 35/2.8.

Thats really cool. I wondered if an adaptor could be made and there is one already. these thigs must be rare though and expensive. It looks like a hard piece to make too.

Ganzel misses the critical aspect, that tilt and shift in the same direction are the most common requirement - not at 90 degrees. That's why many Nikon buyers get the modification done by Nikon before delivery to fix this. Also, he says that 'shift' refers to sideways movement. This not correct. Shift refers to all parallel movements. Lateral movement is called a 'cross front' in view camera terminology.

Tilt = vertical angle change
Swing = horizontal angle change
Rise or fall = vertical parallel shift
Left or right cross = horizontal parallel shift

These are the terms used by Linhof and Sinar historically and are accepted internationally. Many early hand-view cameras (field cameras) had no drop front provision, and their movements were referred as 'tilt and swing, rise and cross'. Those with a drop movement often accomplished it using a 'drop baseboard' which could also have a secondary function, dropping even further with the bellows retracted to the first stage of the rails, for extreme wide-angle lenses.

The cost of the MIREX, like Novoflex and similar movement adaptors, tends to make it hard to live with.

I would never have use for one enough to buy. i'd like to play with one though. I saw a novoflex focus rail at the show here in Toronto. it was .. 3 or $400.00 I had it in my hand and I must say it was tops worth 80 bucks. It was painted aluminum made to look like it was anodized and the sample had been to a few shows and was already pretty banged up they didn't even bother to clean the tool marks off it before they painted it when it was made and where there should be brass bushings they had plastic. I hope their other products are better but If thats the quality they sell then I think they are theives, or maybe it was just the dealer ripping people off.
