Ahoy!

OK, I'm no expert, but I know a bargain when I see one. Wait till the end bit.

Recently I bought (blind) an ex retail stock Sigma 55-200mm DC lens from a chap on eBay. Got the lens . . mint! Complete with warranty cards etc etc.

Funny thing is that no-one had even posted a review on this lens on Dyxum, so I conducted some research - very positive stuff I might add. After using it for a couple of weeks now (it's now my walkabout lens), I've posted a short review on Dyxum (see link).

I paid £29.00 + p&p for it. Having mentioned it on another forum, one other member there has bagged an even better buy on eBay for the same lens. Bargain or what?

I think this lens is simply overlooked. It retails for £89.99 or more.

We have had one for a while, on a Sigma SD10/14 kit. It is a very good lens indeed and was the first of its kind (55-200mms for digital format). It's much better than Canon's equivalent. Sony now has a Tamron-based version with the same basic specifications.
