24-105mm G lens?
I remember reading something in the past spring about a new G lens that was announced for 2009. It was the the 24-105mm G range F4. Did this happen or was that a hoax. I am looking at the 24-75 z lens and before purchasing anything may want to wait and see the G first. Does anyone know anything about the 24-105G or was it a hoax?

Re: 24-105mm G lens?
It was definitely a hoax. Crucial bits of the text in the material lacked consistency in background texture to the rest. That is, it looked 'shopped. Many other lenses have been debuted in wooden concept form and production-ready prototypes, most have hit the market, but all we ever had of the 24-105/4 G was a clever-but-not-clever-enough photoshopped booklet.
What amazes me is that third-party manufacturers Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina haven't offered anything similar in specification.
