Why is Song G lens brighter/

I have been working with an Alpha 850. I have shot with a Sony 70-300 G lens, a Minolta 24mm and a Minolta 28-135. The images taken with the Sony G lens are brighter then the others. -- Is this do to the coatings on the Sony lens, vs. the older Minolta lens? Or are my eyes fooling me?

This is an exposure issue. Lens coatings have no effect on the brightness of an image, they only effect the tonality.
The 'G' should be giving you higher contrast images than the older lenses, since this is the practice with designing lenses for digital. I owned the 70-300G for about a month before selling it on and I would describe it as having similar resolution to the Minolta 100-300APO but greater contrast. It also had a slight shift to red at the longer end.
