Sigma 17-50 2.8

Unread post by roysmith »

Any opinions on this new lens? Has anyone yet had the chance to try it? I'm thinking of buying it instead of the Tamron 17-50 2.8... I like better the EX series from Sigma, they feel more solid. I believe it should be quite good optically as it seems very similar to the Sigma 17-70 2.8-4 which is a good lens (or at least I think so).

Well I've ordered it and should be here in less than a month. I found a review, maybe the first one, here in case anyone is interested (it's in spanish but google can translate it). So far looks like a pretty good lens, better than the Tamron... at least in paper ;)
As soon as I have it I'll let you know how good it really is :)

We'll certainly be interested in hearing about how you find this lens. I hope it works out well for you!
