Canon FD to Sony Adaptors

I still have my old (but good in their day) Canon FD lenses & am also keen to try the 400mm f 5.6 Tokina long tele on my 700. I have seen various glassless & glassed adaptors on e-bay & at SRB, has anyone tried any of them ? Comments ?
I understand from trawling the posts here that the glassed ones degrade the optics a lot but are they still useable ?
The glassless ones presumably lose infinity focus ?
Hope someone can help
Best wishes

Since you would have no aperture coupling, it might be worth examining the FD mount of the Tokina lens, and seeing whether the breechlock assembly can be removed as a unit, and replaced by an Alpha fit T-mount or another type of Alpha adaptor. This can be done with many old Minolta SR lenses, in some cases achieving perfect infinity focus.

Although the 1.2X glass adaptor route does compromise the lens, it is not all that bad - you end up with something like a 480mm f/6.3 lens giving infinity focus, which is probably useful.
