Does anyone know where I can get an older Sigma AF lens serviced?
(Sigma 400mm af 5.6 Apo macro) dust on the 8th element
Sigma UK no longer will do them as it requires special tools to strip them all the locking rings are screwed by friction tools not as most are by inserted tools.
If no one available I will just have to make tools for my self.

The Camera Workshop in Milton Keynes as mentioned for Photoclubalpha members should do it for you.

They can be a bit elusive as it's a one man and a dog operation and they sometimes don't answer phone calls, a bit like me.

The one in Canada has been able last year to fix a old 70-210mm F/2.8 (first version) AF APO with no problem. In fact It was supposed to be 2 years ago ... but they just LOST my lens in the inventory. 1 years later after a few email of complaint from myself, I have received the lens in a box a home with apologized and no fees

.
So you can probably try the one in Toronto. BUT be sure to have you tracking number with insurance and signature, instead of that ... it can happen the same story as me.

Frank

I also have a good source here in the states. Fortunately for me, they are a 15 min drive from my office.
