That's the lens I like :-) the 85mm 2.8.

Well, Sony is keeping one of the reason why I'm on the Minolta mount, for very small and good prime lenses. But now ... let's see how well the lens perform at full open aperture, because 85mm for portrait is rarely on my side more than F4.0.
In fact probably I will never buy it because I already has the 85mm 1.4 and the 100 2.0, but ... if in some horrible event I'm going to loose but of them ... this will be probably the best inexpensive replacement.
But, for some friend starting photography and wanting to get a good affordable portrait lens combine with slow wide zoom lens, I think this is a very good start. (probably the next investment for this person will be to go save money for the 135 1.8 after that).
Low price of the 35 1.8 make me feel that the 50mm 1.7 will start to drastically drop in price on Ebay if they have done a good job designing it. (instead they showing another full frame camera at low price
).
The question on my side about the 24mm 2.0 Zeiss is how good compare to the 28mm 2.0 ... I hope some body on the net will do a test (for the moment the Zeiss if very bigger compare to the 28mm). I will love to see in the future a Zuiko style 21mm for the Sony mount
.

Frank
