Got the 135mm 1.8 Zeiss tonight ...

Ho my god ... this lens is huge ...
I got a deal on Ebay in Canada for a used in perfect optical condition (but with some ugly mark on the body). I have a feeling my 85mm 1.4 G D was too weighty and large ... but it looks like a tiny prime lens now ... I have a feeling the 400mm 4.5 is in front of the camera for the weight of the lens ...
I will do some photo on the weekend with the lens and post some, but again I will sleep thinking of the size and the weight of this monster ... I think I have played too much with the Leica 90mm 2.8 this week ...

some first shot ...

(you are in Quebec, Canada on this picture, and you have more chance to see Monkey crossing the street than a Original Mini...

)

(before the sun disappear it gave us a beautiful scene on the road)

(picture taken few minutes after Evan woke up)
Heavy ... did I ... heavy , but feel like a rock ... rock solid. Strangely the focus hunt a lot compare to all my old Minolta lens ... still don't understand why ???? I don't know if other people have experiment focus hunt with it.
Other thing ... I think I will do like my other Old Minolta lens and cut the cable of the function button on the lens, I'm always accidentally putting my finger on it ... and this make the camera stop working has I want.
Regards,
Frank

last three and I go to bed : (for information, exception picture of Evan, all the upper and bottom picture has been done through the windshield of the car, It is the only way to find moment to take picture ...

)

(The Mafia is part of the Quebec road construction industry since the 70th in very strong presence and very bad approval in the way of making this bridge make it now one of the most in bad shape bridge in Canada ... , and it is one of the most use also ... )

(Same story for this road construction ... technically it is gambling each year to try making it in good shape enough to survive until it will put down in a few year, causing MONSTER traffic event ...

)

Frank, congratulations for a wonderful lens.
As I notice you live far from work. Mine is a mere 3.5 km, and it would've been much shorter if it weren't for winding roads descending the hill...

The 135mm F1.8 is on my wish list along with the 24mm F2.0 Zeiss for the new NEX-VG900 I have on preorder.

I have not tried it yet in video, but it is probably a very interesting choice. The close focus will give you interesting possibility.

My bad Joe, welcome to the forum also.
On my side I will be very interested to see the Leica in action on this Video camera. I don't know how fare the sensor react to very hard angle ray of light. For sure, the 135mm 1.8 has no negative , except its weight and size.
