I am trying to find a lens hood for my KM 24-105. The Sony equivalent would have worked fine but I seem to have left it too late now this lens is discontinued and I can't find this part anywhere. I was wondering about using the hood from another 62mm filter thread lens e.g. the 16-80. It is a different part number and so although it fits perfectly I'm wondering what the difference is ( no vignetting).
Does any one have both lenses and could compare the hoods?
In my lens hood hunt I have noticed that some swapping seems ok as I have seen the Sony 11-18 hood used with the KM 17-35.

Re: Sony and Minolta lens hood compatability
Hi KB, it is not available at the Sony store online and I also checked by phone. They just advised me to check my local retail stores. I doubt any of my local stores ever stocked that lens, and I doubt very much that they ever stocked spare lens hoods
. I have tried some web-sites that stock Sony parts and they list it but don't have it in stock. Minolta Mania (eBay) had it in stock until recently but I stupidly kept putting-off getting one until it was too late.
