28-85rs

I think I made a mistake in my lens selection when I picked up the 35-70F4 I'm getting very few keepers from this lens and it flares like crazy. I'm picking up a 28-85RS F3.5 tomorrow as it's replacement (if it's any good) I know there was one lens in that range that stood out as better than the others but theres so many 28-70 -28-80 28-85's some are panned on Dyxum and the rest are rated pretty close together I'm hoping this is the one thats regarded higher .. any comments?
