I have seen a second hand Sony 16-50 F/2.8 for a good price. I wondered if its worth buying [ for my A57 ] considering the uncertain future of A mount. Secondly, would the Tamron 17-50 F/2.8 be as good, Kurt Munger seems to think it is. Any opinions.

I thought there was a new updated version coming out (least SAR suggested that)?

If anything needs updating its the CZ 16-80, but can't see Sony putting any more money into A mount lenses.
