Vintage Lenses on Digital Cameras

I really like my old MD lenses I'm not getting outwith them as often as I should be. thanks for the reminder maybe I can make it out on the weekend at least with my 50mm or 135

Interesting article, I had a fit of nostalgia reading it, got me thinking about that Minolta 70-210 f4 MD that was always razor sharp on my X700's not too mention the Minolta 135 f2 MD that never saw much use, (it seemed to make the camera bag twice as heavy)...so maybe they aren't dead after all, and it's not as if I don't know what an f/stop ring is, and how to manual focus, actually I like todays clear focussing screens (sans the split prism), that split prism always seemed to get in the way of being able to see the subject properly, and I often longed for a clear one on my X700's.

actually I was thinking of ordering the split screen for my a700. it would be a lot easier to manual focus with it. I think.

Now that the cameras have a diopter control (and you know exactly what too set it at for your vision) the split prism might be more usefull, because there is the distinct possibility of focussing with it too perfection but still wrong anyway, the only way you could use the X700's was too get the add on diopter of the correct power (I never bothered) but then your eyes change slightly over time....
