And a similar slight crop down on the unmown lawn (the photo explains why no lawn mowing so far this summer except for an attempt to make some paths through the savannah).

Very good result, what is the approximative magnification on those picture ?

I found on a review (don't remember where) that the green colour from the sensor was kind of little but to neutral, I you find that too ?

Very natural greens. I like the results on natural subjects. I'm not sure of the magnification, it's probably only 1:10 or so, but the sensor is so small it would be around 1:3 on 35mm.

Hmm f9 on the RX100 is equivalent too what in 35mm terms? roughly f16 or even more maybe, it does do macro quite well, but there is probably no macro flash system for it unfortunately, it means taking a separate light out in the bush at night to capture frogs, and some of them need capturing soon before they disappear for good, but that certainly looks like a pretty handy unit for the job, except for the light/flash situation.

I don't know about David, but I am thinking it is producing some lovely images.
I am after a new compact for times when the DSLR is too clumsy but I think this is just too expensive for me.
But I am impressed.

Heads up! Just packaged up the RX100 for the return trip to Amazon. The lower leaf of the lens cover would no longer close leaving the lens half exposed when shut down. They're going to replace it.

Fortunately, my wife's RX100 arrives on Friday so I won't have to be without one for too long. (She doesn't know this yet... )

This is the first time I have ever had anything go wrong with a Sony or Minolta camera, or anything for that matter.
