I don't think David is talking about AF accuracy with the first generation of Maxxum lenses and Minolta/Konica-Minolta/Sony A mount cameras.
What he says is that the lack of distance information those lenses transmit to the camera make really hard to develop a mirrorless AF adapter for E-mount cameras. BTW, Xi lenses were, apparently, extremely good at this, but alas they are not supported by the LA-EA adapters...
