SLT Mirror damaged

Unread post by Mr_Alpha_2011 »

Hey guys!

we got a broken SLT mirror, everything is fine except the mirror.
i talked to sony the one in here and they werent able to do anything except sending it for services and they told me it will take about 2-4 months and i dont want that!

so basically i want "only" the SLT mirror its for Alpha A33

by any chance anyone got any idea where to buy it? that would be a great help!

4 months? holy... is that because of where you are? If you know the part number you should be able to just buy the part from Sony directly

May I ask how you managed to damage the mirror?
BTW, you may still shoot without the mirror, albeit with some restrictions.

I suggest you try The Photostore (Adrian Paul) www.photostore-uk.com - if the part is made as a spare, he can probably obtain it quickly. Alternatively, there is a firm in the USA (maybe someone can help me with this) that stocks all kinds of parts-level stuff for Sony and other cameras.

you can say that, the Sony main branch in middle east is in Dubai, they also said they will charge me $120
as for buying the part they said they are not allowed to sell it...and the only way to do that is to go to sony in dubai to get the item that IF they would sell it also.

how it was damaged? lol my nephew poked it with a hammer toy while i was talking to my sister but glad the sensor is 100% perfect.
as for shooting i can shoot with it fine except there is no auto-focus and no focus confirm. so its all in manual mode, thats what i found after trying it.
