A580 loses date and time

Unread post by the_hefay »

The last couple of times I've removed the battery for charging, my a580 has needed the date and time reset. I have two batteries, so the camera is not without a battery for very long periods. Any idea how to fix this? Is there an internal battery that needs replaced?

When all else fails, read the manual. Apparently the internal battery is rechargeable. The manual suggests inserting a fully charged battery and leaving the camera off for 24 hours. If this doesn't work then the camera should be sent off to have the internal battery replaced. So, I will give that a try and hopefully it solves my problem.

The A580 is not all that old and the internal battery should not have failed yet.

That's what I was thinking. Anyways, it's turned off with a charged main battery in it right now. I hope that fixes it.

Leaving a fully charged battery in the camera for a day fixed the issue. It remembered the date and time when I removed the battery and put in a different battery. :)
