Upgrading from R1 to A350

Unread post by aml »

Should I buy the A350 I would get the CZ16-80 lens. But what I am a bit concerned about is that the viewfinder of the A350 no longer shows 100% as on the R1 and same for the LCD.

Those who did this upgrade, how would you rate the viewfinder and LCD of the A350 compared to the R1? Better/worse or what else?

My first digital camera was an Olympus C1400 (aka D600) which was a DSLR. The problem with this camera was that at least the unit I was using had a tilted viewfinder, i.e. I would shoot a horizont perfectly horizontal and it would turn out slightly tilted in the picture. Apparently the viewfinder was misaligned/tilted with the CCD. Here is an example of the problem:

This leaves me wondering how well aligned the viewfinder and live-preview display are with the sensor. If you frame an image in either the viewfinder or LCD, are the horizonts perfectly horizontal or are they slightly tilted?
Having to rotate each individual image would be very annoying.

Alignment seems OK on samples so far - no one has complained, ours is very accurate - but the 90 per cent view is all you get. I can live with it!
