Looking throuogh David's excellent review of the A580 I could not find any comments on the sound and how to fit an external microphone. Any suggestions from a current user on what model to purchase. I guess that one fitting on to the flash shoe (with a short lead) would be ideal. Has to be suitable for outdoor recording. Thanks in advance.
You probably need something like this:

BTW, on stock at sonystyle.com (Adorama is having new alpha products this week, included that SEL 30mm Macro, probably this mic will be on the same shipment)

Is that the e-mount 30mm Pako? Will you be checking it out?
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

Yes, the SEL 30mm f3.5 macro -I'll go and see what it looks like ;-)

There are little chances I'll buy this lens, this kind of macro (50mm equivalent) is good for technical stuff (reproductions, stamps) but for that I already have what I need on the A-mount system -and all the adapters I'll need in case I pick the NEX for macro stuff. I prefer to save that money for the 24mm; the 55-200 and specially, for the NEX7 (or whatever # they'll give to that rumored EVF NEX)
