If you are tempted to replace the standard focussing screen with one of the Sony alternatives, then this tutorial is essential viewing.

I just put in an L type screen today and you need a very steady hand. I got one tiny speck of dust first time and had to lower the screen holder again and very carefully blow it, not too hard or you can easily blow the screen out of the holder. It is all back together now and the screen is pristine.
I wore cleanroom mask, gloves and hairnet while doing this (in my kitchen, not a cleanroom).
Just be extremely careful to not drop the screen, or touch the mirror, and never try to clean any dust with anything other than a blower.
