Wanna Rent an A900 outfit?

Unread post by pakodominguez »

The Adorama Rentals department got a couple of complete outfits (I don't know what CZ lenses or if the grip is available yet) from Sony. It doesn't show up on their website yet.

I'm taking this as a confirmation that Sony is targeting Profesisonal/Studio photographers with this camera and the CZ lenses. I'll try to get one for a gig this Saturday

;-)

Renting lens are DANGEROUS ! :-) when you touch some beautiful equipment you cannot leave it after all :-).

But good news that some Minolta/Sony equipment will start to be available on store for rent.

I'm always answering some friend when they want to buy camera that if they go with Canon or Nikon they will have the advantage of renting some lens instead of buying it. Yes I'm a crazy lover of Minolta/Sony stuff, but ... i able to see the good recommendation when someone has a very tight budget to invest in Photo.

No Minolta stuff for rent (the new Manager, with a lot of experience in the rentals business, didn't even know Minolta lenses fit Sony cameras...)
They have the "kit" on special: $100 a day for A900 + 24-70mm; 70-200mm, 85mm and 58 -of curse I couldn't get it for this weekend, I thought about trying it tomorrow on a Bat Mitzvah, but I'll have to wait :-(

yesterday: Big party at a local club in Alphabet City/Lower East Side sponsored by SONY and Adorama (Rentals). Here is the deal:
Image
It's amazing how dynamic the company (Adorama and Sony DSRL division) got in this time of crisis...

BTW, I got the kit for this weekend, I'll try it on a couple of events and more. The few shots I did yesterday at home show me that noise at 400 ASA (JPG, I know...) is quite strong. It shows, until now, that the Tamron 70-200 is only noisier than the Minolta/Sony, but equally "fast". I won't have the time to use the 24-70 2.8 cuz I want to test my loenses, but I'll try to compare MInolta and CZ 85 f1.4.
