The previous version was not very good. This looks similar to RAW Developer, except with more noise (luminance only) and less saturation - the lack of saturation is also accompanied by very little colour noise, it's replaced by bright luminance noise pixel for pixel (where a pattern of red colour noise appears in the RAW Developer conversion, the same pattern appears as pure white pixels in the RPP new conversion). Since RPP has no luminance noise control, only chroma blurring, it's not a very attractive result but could be post-processed.
The most impressive bit is the reduction in coloured noise, but I can't get decent hues (especially yellows) - saturation does not help, by the time the yellows are normal, the reds are superheated. Wait to see what other programs do with this, I think - RPP really more an experimental tool than a usable raw workflow.
