Here are three examples of using MF lenses with adapters on A900. BTW, I received my A900 Friday and these were
taken yesterday. Hardly any time to learn about the camera. All comments are appreciated. All are straight from the camera
and no PP was done.

This is with Hanimex 135/2.8 and Vivitar 32mm extension tubes. I made a mistake of not resetting iso and it stayed at 3200.

That's just what I expected. Probably (or maybe) manual focus is hard on the A900 too (I have that problem with the standard focusing screen - no split screen). Or should I stop pixelpeeping.

Would you please elaborate what you mean by manual focus is hard on A900? Since I hand held the camera, I suspect a minute movement will get it out of focus.
I would try with a tripod later after rain stops.

Yes, Sury, you're right. Do try it again with a tripod.
I suspect you were using the lens wide open.

I went open to focus and then stopped couple of stops. It is very likely during this time my camera must have moved.
Hmm.. Something to think about my technique. Thanks for pointing out. Much appreciated and learned something new (to me).

I have tried some MF lens on the A900 : 135mm 2.8 , 50mm 1.4, 50mm 1.2, 28mm 2.5, 200mm 3.5, 500 4.5 (this old Pentax ! ), and my lovely Tamron adaptall 300mm 2.8. And i can confirm that the focus is not so an issue on the A900. I will certainly say that is 2 time easier that on the A700 (who has also a good viewfinder).

With M42 confirm focus, you can if you want way for the small BIP when half pressing the shutter to help you, and even for sport action, you can Full press it, and only when your hand will have turned correctly the ring, the camera will take the picture quickly for you.

Congratulation for you A900 and even to take time to recycled this old lens. As i have say before, this is good for the environment to get back to life those old beauties. And with good technic and practice with each MF lenses, you can almost challenge some AF lens at twice and more the price.

Sorry for my English Writing ... I'm learning .

I was searching for the correct expression to talk about the Sound the camera does when there is a confirm focus event. (when the red square lights on).

Next time i will use the confirm focus sound , instead of that.
