CIPA Forecast

Someone in Japan is dreaming. Sounds like a NAR forecast of housing market activity!
We've just entered Great Depression 2.
My prediction: 35% YOY drop in 2009, followed by another 25% drop each of the next 2 years.

Yes, it does look a bit optimistic. However, -35% and -25% general global slump would do more than see us in a depression, it would trigger first a series of minor wars and ultimately a global war, or at least a superpower war. We could survive those figures if they applied only to Sony

The way they're printing money over here, I don't doubt that someone who holds a lot of our financial instruments may want to start a war with us. I've always feared the coming war with China, and we may be seeing it before too long.

China has a big part, how big are the arabs these days? Saudi Arabia?

Well Bill Gates has predicted 4 years of gloom!
Anyway, I suspect those figures are optimistic..by some margin.
Some sectors may hold up ok, others may not..across the board I would expect reduced demand for cameras.
Even budget ones..people will not bother "upgrading" as often..
