I just had notification that my L-Plate for the A-900 has been shipped :D I used one on a Canon for 5 years and loved it and just had to have one for the Sony.

Can the L-plate be used with a remote release cord attached?

There's a couple of images here at the RRS site. Access for the remote cable looks OK. I hope so anyway, because if not, I'll be sending it back!

I'll let you know when mine arrives.

Hi Olaf,

I now have my RRS L-Plate and yes, you can use it with the Remote Cord attached. I have a cheap cord, not a Sony one and I needed to pare back the rubber a little (not shown in photo) so that the camera can be mounted vertically. Fitting the cord with the L-Plate in place is easy enough, removing it is a bit fiddly.

Apologies about the image quality, just a very quick snap.

How does the L-plate mount the camera vertically with the cord in place?

I had to pare back about 1mm of rubber on the Remote Cord to allow that. As I said though, I only have a cheap cord, not a Minolta/Sony one. The L-plate/tripod head puts no pressure on the cord so there is no strain on the contacts.
