Well, if you didn't get your glass back in December 2008, during the limited discounts ... it is going the wrong way, now.

On average, nearly everything is now up $20-$100 than March 31st, 2009, as the dollar declines in value. Definitely "INFLATION", because the product certainly did not get any better.

The one outstanding exception is the CZ 24-70mm f/2.8, which dropped $150.

I guess if you are out of work, due to the economy, you can afford higher priced glass. Sure, why not?

Oh yeah, the α900 dropped $300, too. So, if you wanted a new camera and killer lens to go with it ... the α900 and CZ 24-70 f/2.8 ... the total is $450 less, now. Give some to get some, I guess.

At least the glass in your bag is probably worth .. more?

Apparently the reason is the Yen has gone through the roof in recent times, the story I saw was that Japanese investors and depositors panicked some time ago and sold down, withdrew, transferred etc. overseas funds back home and the Japanese banks are now bulging at the seams with money where the depositors think it's safe/safer, the 64million dollar question is how long will the Yen 'stay' up, what with the large decline in export revenue...now that so many overseas customers are looking at the cost of things in a more critical light, re-adjusting priorities, worrying about employment security, living expenses etc.
Now, the big economic pow wow in London looks like an attempt too retain the existing value system at some level similar too what it was before the big slide began, like trying to hold back the tide I think...time will tell.

ps Last I heard, inflation in Zimbabwe was running at one million percent...there but for the grace of..
