My daughter Emma (16) needed some portraits for her art and borrowed my a200:-
her big sister
self portrait
all taken with the kit lens. I think she's a convert!

Cool, that last shot though reminds me of 'Rachael' (then a young Sean Young) from the movie Blade Runner.....similar face..too my eye that is.

I like them all, especially the b&w ones which are also accentuated with the chosen scene or pose or mood acquired by the female subjects.

MMMMM! if I were you and you bought an a900 I wouldnt tell your daughter, I have two daughters myself and I am so happy that all they think about is shoes and clothes. I think there is some talent there with regard to photography, good luck!

These are good! Get her a fast 50mm (they're cheap enough) and let her play with that creative tool...she's got a good eye for composition.
