I saw this posted on another forum. It is in German, but several people say it is well done.

Well it came across as expected. He liked something about all 3 cameras. The usual Sony not so good high ISO was in there.

He wants the handling of the sony, the colour of the canon, and the lens of the nikon!

Interesting he liked the Ektar 100 too, and said it looked nicer than the digital shots (aka clock)

The high iso shot coming from the D3x looks black and white. If you remove the colour noise in the A900 I think they would be pretty close, no?

According to the author of the test, out of the three 'flagships' Canon EOS 1Ds Mk III, Nikon D3X, and Sony Alpha 900, at low speed settings (ISO 100/21° - ISO 200/24°) the Sony's image quality is the best---which is particularly notable with regard to the price. The Sony also is the smallest, lightest, and easiest of the three cameras to handle. At higher ISO speeds, the Canon's image quality is the best. At ISO 400/27° - ISO 800/30°, the Sony's is acceptable; at ISO 1600/33° and higher it's the worst by a wide margin ("disappointing," says the author). Kodak Ektar 100 35-mm film lags far behind them all in terms of noise and sharpness but still is really strong in terms of colour rendition and colour discrimination.

At first sight, among the three 24-70 mm 1:2.8 lenses the Nikkor looks best ... but that's due to the camera's sophisticated electronic lens fault correction. Without correction, the SAL 24-70 mm ZA is the best. In the end, all cameras have their strengths and their weaknesses ... as always.
