Spotted on DPReview reference to http://photorumors.com/ where you can find
Sony keeps leaking – now we also have A750, A850, A950
* Sony A950 with backlit 24.6Mp Exmor sensor @ $2999.95
* Sony A850 with 24.6 Mp @ $1999.95
* Sony A750 with 14MP backlit sensor @ $1200.00
Difficult to know what to believe now (other than the A850 for sure). There is also the obligatory drop down box from Sony Asia Pacific. Unfortunately I am not clever enough to know how to copy that one. I note that the Q500/550 are not on the drop down list. The plot thickens as you just do not drop and replace camera designations like that close to a supposed launch.

Maybe I should hold back purchasing another A700 and wait for the A750 with a 14Mp backlit sensor.

Ref above I must add that most DPReview commentators think that it is really a Photoshop job rather than reality.

I've never seen a drop down list box of that length on a Sony site. You have to scroll, they don't show all the cameras in one list. I think it's a Photoshop fake. Anyway, we will know on September 2nd where at the end of the day at IFA Berlin Sony have a press conference and promise to put brand new product in hands of press. I have an invitation, the flights available do not offer me the choice I would make (fly out, attend conference, photograph Berlin at night, catch some half-sleep at airport and fly back). No desire to stay overnight and Ryanair has no flights back on the 3rd.

Anyone fancy attending for Photoclubalpha if I can can get clearance?

Um, YEAH! Is there any kind of travel expense account involved?

Well, I already have press credentials, but I don't think I can afford the flights.

I'd have no problem staying in an airport for a night if need be. I've been telling my little ones bedtimes "stories from my head" as they call them, - just my old memories from my youthful days of travel - and tonight's story was of sleeping in a park in Asunción, Paraguay one night because I had no money to spare for a room. Airports always beat out city parks.

However, if Kevin can't make it, I still may have time to renew my passport.

No expenses involved! If I could afford it, I would just book a couple of nights in Berlin and shoot some city pix on the spare day. In fact, I might do that. I have been looking at our Alamy sales, $34k value before commissions since we started putting images up in 2002.

Here are some figures for you, based on some stuff which I see has sold repeatedly (individual pix have made more than these, but not by the steady trickle method):

Spanish pastry with coffee, €13 Euros, Fuengirola (KM A2): $547.90 to date
Various beers, wherever, KM A2 to A900: $431.46 to date
Tapas in Barcelona Ramblas - €65 - A100 - $197 so far
One hour walking round Puerto Banus harbour (KMA2): $1047.08 to date
Stopping to photograph racing pigeons being released in 1976, slide: $587.34 to date
Photographing Didyma ruins through the fence without paying admission, it was shut (Sigma SD9): $376.20 to date
Two pictures of a Sheffield shopping mall food court, when stopping to buy a card (KM A2): $234 to date
Ten minutes in a colourful painted street in Kinsale (D7D): $537.78 to date
Our Birman cat with some new cat grass (D7D): $371.08
One shot of some amphorae in a museum (KM A2): $350.88
Two shots of washing hanging out in Venice, 1986, slide: $593.03
Two days spent trapped on the QE2 for a Pentax press conference (KM A2): $963.53 so far (!)
Five minutes spent making close-ups of my computer screen (Sigma SD10): $448.06

Conclusion - consume more beer, coffee and snacks, sit here photographing computer screens and the cat, spend the money on cruises and wander round expensive marina harbours when they make landfall, visit historic sites and shoot photos of exhibits. Throw away A900 etc and just use the A2. My highest netting single sale has also been from the A2.

So Berlin is maybe not a cert for stock image sales, I'm better off at home!

Here are some Berlin hostels:

I have met some cool people at hostels. Anyway, something to consider.

Always wanted to visit Berlin, but going to Corsica in September for a week :mrgreen: It's just around the corner... Have checked a few times but strange enough, never see any cheap plane tickets to Berlin :( Maybe next year with my new Axxx (jut kidding, A700 is enough for me)!
