Sony's A230 is listed as one of the "10 Digital Cameras You Should Snap Up as Holiday Gifts" by e-week here:

The only other DSLRs to get the nod were the Pentax Kx (shown is red, which looks good, but would probably attract too much attention!) and Nikon's D90.

The a230 is the only DSLR in the local Christmas flyer from Wal-Mart, advertised at $499. Not a bad deal for a DSLR these days. Considering that Christmas time might be the only time many people sit up and look for these deals, that's some pretty darn good exposure.
