It is a very easy mounting project to make you Sony alpha camera Wifi Wireless.

Not perfect solution, but it is working .

If I'm able to find time, I might try to create one for me ... but most of my studio job are for stock picture without artistic director and usually I don't take more than 100 pictures ... so a 8GB CF card is still ok.

Boy, that's strange and crude. I don't see much need for the remote camera control plus wireless, and you have been able to run the A900 with instant wireless transfer of files ever since it came out. The WiPix kit does this, and also backs up your files on to an HD beltpack while at the same time sending a copy to the production computer wirelessly. It does not use the USB port, it simply has a dummy CF card with a flat cable and then a simple strain relief thingy before a skinny USB cable runs down to your belt. I think they also make HDs which can fit under-camera now.

If you are using remote camera control from the computer, then the camera is still - on a tripod - as there is hardly any point in having a hand-held camera then someone trying to 'remote' operate it! So a cable is all you need, no wireless.

And to simplify matters even more, the EyeFi card does a pretty good job, in a CF card adaptor, for about £100.

I admit, with your answer ... now I don't see good usage of that .

I didn't know (by looking at the EyeFi website) that this small device now handle Wifi N ... , this means it should be able to transfer at very high speed.

My mistake of not having doing too much search before to post this link.

I think it is worth leaving in place Frank, because there are other uses for this concept. For example, remote mast photography and by far the most important one, robot camera carriers. I do not think it is fantastic for the A900 but it has real potential with the A55 for example, where a live image might be possible. If a wireless USB link had been made for the Konica Minolta A2 think of the potential there.

Also, the A55 has a 5v power supply - it provides 5v power via the microphone jack. This is used by miniature condensor mics, to convert to a higher voltage usually internally and apply to the condensor capsule. I'm sure the 5v from the A55 or A33 mic socket could power a neat USB wireless adaptor and probably allow remote live viewing and composition, wireless. All you would need then would be a wireless controlled robot or mobile camera carrier and mounting.

The only thing I don't understand about this is exactly why the studio that has developed it needs to use A900 bodies at all when they only require 6 megapixel JPEGs!

Well ... for the 6mp ... I have the same question ... the only answer was probably because it is to slow on the 24mp and time is $$$ . But, for picture work (if you have good computer), I don't see any advantage to downscale the resolution, you can always crop ... but never do the reverse.
