Interesting that although they put a DSLT on the list there are no mirrorless/ILC cameras.

The NEX and m4/3 cameras were before the DSLT cameras. At least that writer thinks they don't make the cut.

Well, the "Leica I, Model A, 1925" is there, second on the list...

Ahh, you took mirrorless literally.

Actually, there are several cameras on the list that are mirrorless, but I, of course, was using it in the modern meaning which refers to digital cameras such as NEX, Olympus/Panasonic m4/3, Samsung, etc. Sometimes they are also called ILC cameras.

I don't think any (digital) mirrorless camera can be named as "revolutionary", like the K1000; the Maxxum 7000 or the Mavica.
The D100 because it appears at the right time (when pros realized they MUST move to digital) and the Rebel because it was the first DSRL under 1000$ The A55 have lots of chances to become a landmark because it's technology (not just translucent mirror, not just EVF quality, not just Video and AF during video, but all this together)

If the NEX7 deliver good quality with Leica lenses, then we will be able to ask for this camera ont he list (because it will kill the Leica M9)

I do not agree that it will kill the Leica M9. The vast majority of the people who buy the Leica do so because it is a Leica, not because it has superior performance. Those people will keep on buying it.

Yes, the guy who made the list agrees with you. Many on some of the internet forums are so, so, so sure that ILCs are revolutionary and change the game completely. Everything else is so, so, so yesterday.

Sometimes it gives you a good chuckle reading the extreme fanboys when they get the wind beneath their wings and they go soaring into the upper atmosphere!

Anyway, time will tell. The writer already thinks DSLT fits on the list though. I guess I don't have much of an opinion yet about DSLT and ILC though with regards to such a list.

The DSLT is (arguably) more influential than the mirrorless systems, because it offers most functions of a DSLR with a negligible cut in image quality (SLT-Mirror). The absolute breakthrough for mirrorless systems is there, when they are on par with DSLRs for fast tracking autofocus. Up to now they are neither particularily versatile nor the smallest nor outstandingly powerful when compare to others on the market. If there is one formula, that describes what mirrorless systems offer today, than it is: compact but no compromise in image quality. IMHO that could be enough to get onto the list - but what model to choose?

I'm sure SLT is wrapped up patent wise so it's going to be alone even if other makers respond it will likely be with no mirror at all. It might deserve a place on the list for moving in a different direction but it's unlikely to be around for long even if they all jump on the bandwagon they'll be riding their own designs not Sony's

It's more a bridging technology if indeed it is a success and it's too early to say right now
