Wireless flash trigger on A77

I have a Minolta 5600 HSD unit. Does anyone know whether the built in flash on the A77 can be used to trigger this unit to allow it to be used externally? Ditto for the NEX-7?
The 5600 HSD behaves exactly like a current basic flash (model 42 for example) and can be triggered.
